The 2nd Guangdong Province Intangible Cultural Heritage and Traditional Food Festival & 2016 Chashan Garden Fairwas held from 30th April to 3rd May. The highlight of this event was the morning Grand Parade for Blessing, which was held on 1st May in Chashan Town's Dongyue Temple to a huge crowd of enthusiastic people.
Chashan Garden Fair has 502 years of history and was selected as one of the intangible cultural heritage projects in Guangdong Province last year. This year's parade consisted of a variety of arrays focusing each on Praying, Chashan celebrities, civilization, intangible cultural heritage, as well asdragons and lions.
This year, intangible cultural heritages from other cities across the province were also invited to join. The vivid and diversified performances of Dalang puppets, Qiaotou Mok Gar Fist, Dalang dragon dance, Qingxi Kylin dance, Zhongshan drunken dragon, Puning Yingge dance were a feast for tourists' eyes.The unique charm of Chinese traditional culture was on full display leaving no disappointment.
There were 14 main activities at the fair this year; accompanying the Guangdong intangible cultural heritage food expo and performance were the "Guanxiang" Flower Music Festival, the 6th tea cultural Festival, dragon and lion dances show, Cantonese operas, and numerous other displays.
