Rambling along the cobblestone road in Yujing Walking Street in Dongcheng District, you may run into a store called “Treasures of Hope”. From the outside of the window, you may take it for granted that it is an art gallery for through its window there is a showcase of unique oil paintings, a western-style fireplace, vintage boxes and cabinets made of solid wood with flowery decorations. However, when you pick up one of the items purely out of interest, you may later find yourself becoming a philanthropist for a charitable cause that may bring much hope to orphans in need.

Rambling along the cobblestone road in Yujing Walking Street in Dongcheng District, you may run into the “Treasure of Hope”.

As the popular quotation goes, "One man’s trash is another man’s treasure" is one of the reasons as to how the store got its name. Aaron Burns, the manager, introduced that all the items in the store are donated by factories, vendors, design groups, and trade companies. All the profits gained from sales in the store will go directly to True Children’s Home, the mission of which is to provide funding for medical care and corrective surgeries, provide post-surgical care, place children with foster families and maintain a pro-active role in support of adoption of these children.
