China-based De Rucci, which operates more than 2,000 retail stores around the world, is expanding its retail presence in the U.S. market.

The De Rucci store in Queens uses a gang plank-style entrance to welcome shoppers.

The company, based in Dongguan, China, has two New York City stores open already and plans to add another next month. The stores feature the company’s line of contemporary sleep sets and home furnishings.

The company is opening a flagship store soon in City of Industry in the Los Angeles market.

The first New York store opened at 969 Third Ave. in Manhattan last year, while the second followed at 8922 Queens Blvd., in Queens.

The third New York-area De Rucci store will open in May at 1649 Northern Blvd. in Manhasset.

De Rucci entered the U.S. bedding scene last year with a 7,500-square-foot showroom at the World Market Center in Las Vegas, where it introduced its line to U.S. retailers to get their reaction to it and to look for retail franchise partners.

The company has set up offices and a warehouse in Los Angeles to support its U.S. bedding push. It plans to show its product lines at the High Point Market this fall to help get its message out to the market.

The company operates five million square feet of manufacturing space at De Rucci-owned facilities in Dongguan, Australia and Europe.

The company is committed to providing customers with comfortable, contemporary bedroom furniture of the highest quality possible, officials said.

De Rucci said the growth of its franchise network in the U.S. demonstrates the company’s commitment to building its brand presence in the U.S. market.

Founded in 2004, De Rucci has become one of the fastest-growing brands in China today. De Rucci’s state-of-the-art facilities in China produce a broad line of sleep products, including about a dozen adjustable beds, a broad assortment of sleep sets, and sleep accessories, including 60 pillow styles and a broad offering of sheets.

The mattresses include models in which drop-in units can be used to change the feel from firm to soft. The line also includes diagnostic sleep systems that analyze each sleeper’s body contour and offer personalized sleep solutions.

The company also produces leather upholstery and sleep accessories.

In the United States, De Rucci is looking for retailers who would like to open De Rucci stores in their markets, and will provide those retailers with a comprehensive support program, including design, sales and merchandising aids, officials said.

Given the company's global nature, it works with designers and factories from around the world, bringing the best of their designs and offerings to its retail partners, the company said.
